Elena Kolesnykova is the owner of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Dubai and a seasoned beauty pageant winner. Balancing her roles as a businesswoman and public figure, she redefines the image of successful, empowered women. In this interview, Elena discusses her journey, her achievements, and how she inspires others.
Elena, you’ve participated in numerous beauty pageants and earned top positions. Currently, you’re representing Austria as a resident at a beauty contest in Dubai. Which of these competitions stands out the most for you and why?
Indeed, I have extensive experience in beauty pageants. I’ve competed in many contests and worked as a professional model across Asia and Europe. In 2023, I once again took part in the international Grand Queen Universe competition held in Dubai and emerged victorious. In August 2024, I participated in the Miss Middle East competition, where there were 103 contestants. I earned a crown and ranked among the top five winners.
How did you prepare for the Grand Queen Universe 2023 and Miss Middle East 2024 contests, where you became the grand queen? In your opinion, what qualities are essential for success in beauty pageants? How has participating in international beauty contests changed your perception of the world and your place in it?
This wasn’t my first time participating in beauty pageants and winning titles, so the international Grand Queen Universe 2023 and Miss Middle East 2024 weren’t entirely new experiences for me. I felt confident, yet there were many worthy contenders. These events are festivals of beauty, talent, and success for women who’ve already achieved something significant in life! I didn’t feel any aggressive competition; instead, I entered the contest to enjoy positive emotions, add some variety to my routine, and once again feel like a queen – because every woman is one.
You’re not just a beauty but also a successful businesswoman, actively challenging the stereotype that a beautiful woman can’t be intelligent. Can you recall the moment when you first realised you could achieve anything?
I believe that now is the time for smart and beautiful women together. Women have long been proving to themselves and others that they can do it all and should embody multiple roles! Only God can do everything – I simply strive to follow His will while doing my utmost.
You’ve opened a prestigious aesthetic clinic and beauty salon in Dubai. What was the most challenging task you faced when starting your business in this country? What innovative and exclusive technologies or methods are used in your clinic and salon?
Thank you! I’ve become a partner at the renowned American Academy of Plastic Surgery clinic. It’s indeed my business, which requires a great deal of responsibility and experience! I love inspiring women and helping them feel beautiful. I get inspired myself when satisfied clients express their gratitude and return to our top-level clinic! This isn’t my first clinic; I’ve had similar business ventures in other countries. My business is also my favourite hobby – I see it as a key to success!
How do you stay in shape despite a busy schedule that includes both business and beauty pageants? What role does fitness play in your life, and what types of physical activity do you prefer?
I absolutely love all kinds of sports – from the gym, yoga, swimming, to skiing. However, what I enjoy most is simply walking 10 km at a stretch – it’s not a problem for me to do it without stopping. I believe that through continuous movement and stillness alike, we overcome bad fate.
Where do you find inspiration and motivation to maintain such high energy levels and self-confidence?
The most important thing in a woman’s life is love, in all its forms! Loving yourself means demanding discipline and developing the best qualities within you. Love for your partner is motivation and inspiration for his success. Love for family is caring for your loved ones.
All these forms of love make me strong, confident, and beautiful! I wish all women worldwide happiness and love. Don’t be afraid to dream and grow! In business, always remember that you’re a woman.
