Ana Carolina is a model, influencer, philanthropist and social activist – this young woman is determined to find her true path in life, full of beauty and kindness, wherever she goes.
Ana Carolina, let’s talk about you, your career in the fashion industry.
I come from a little town in Brazil, there was not much to do there but, on the other hand, I was lucky to have freedom to run in the streets and play hide-and-seek with my neighbors. I moved from that town when I was 12. My parents sent me to study in another city where I could get a better education. I started modeling when I was 16 and it was just a hobby at the beginning. Everything changed after I participated in a very important modeling competition in Brazil. After being a finalist in the contest I moved to São Paulo and started working for bigger brands. I also lived in different places after that – New York, Miami, Copenhagen and Milan. I’ve learned new languages and went through a long journey while I searched for self-knowledge and how to expand and explore my network, not only as a model but also as a content creator and influencer.
Share your impressions on the last fashion week in Paris.
Fashion week in Paris is very inspiring to me. My favorite part is to walk in the streets and see how people are dressed, they get very creative. I also love to see the inspirations behind every new collection, it can be anything…art, history, a person, social causes, really anything. I have creativity tattooed on my arm, I use my creativity everyday and I love to work with creative minds. Therefore, being in Paris during fashion week is very interesting to me.
You spend a lot of time on social activism and philanthropy. Tell us about your recent meetings and projects.
Lately, I’ve been searching for small nonprofit organizations in São Paulo, Brazil to support instead of working with big and well-known institutions. The important thing is to help people to live a better life, no matter who they are or where they come from. When we think about helping others we should be aware that people need safety and emotional support too, it’s not just food and clothes. I still have a long way to becoming a big philanthropist and making a great impact in my country. However, I am doing whatever I can as I go and I really believe that I will find my way to help more people who are in need.
What inspires you to strive to help people, children? How can you join this movement?
There’s a nonprofit organization called @institutopequenosanjos that I visited and helped recently, although it’s very small at the moment, they are growing fast and increasing their capacity to help a higher number of children who live in other states and need to come and stay in São Paulo to do treatments. They host children who need all kind of transplants, cancer treatments, etc. Besides offering a place for them to stay, they also offer medicine and food for free, it’s so important for families who can’t afford it. After visiting places like that, you really understand the importance of helping others, specially children.
Name five components of a woman’s happiness for you.
First of all, women want security and and to feeling protected — it is essential for our wellbeing; Having a family or creating one by ourselves is a part of our nature, and although it takes a lot of work, it also brings purpose and a lot of light. Working on ourselves is another component, we need to continuously grow and become better at something. Hobbies and/or work are necessary to make sure we have discipline and courage. Last but not least, we need love; giving and receiving love is how we create a great life to ourselves and the ones around us.
