Christina Rembisz is a community advocate, model, and founder, who is using her career as a beauty queen to support the causes she’s most passionate about. Having worked hard on her appearance, mastering confidence and resilience, she’s now teaching the youths in her area to create fundraisers and aims to end the drug shortages affecting people with chronic illnesses.
Christina, tell us about your participation in the Miss Florida USA pageant.

I am Miss Temple Terrace USA 2023. I have gained a lot of confidence through pageantry. I understand the importance of communicating who I am. It has allowed me to make connections with like-minded individuals in the community and create a podcast platform, Radiant with a Passion, where I converse with my pageant sisters about the importance of volunteering. But the most important aspect is how it allows me to advocate for causes I am passionate about. I am so grateful for my title because it allows me to share a message of hope with the world.

What attracts you to the beauty industry?
I love the freedom and creativity of expressing yourself and embracing your own uniqueness. Makeup enhances your beauty; you can even add new features like freckles. It allows you to explore outside of your boundaries, to be authentic, to captivate. Everyone has a different perspective as to what is beautiful to them and makes them radiant.

You are a medical professional and social activist. What motivates you to tackle the problems of cancer patients?
My mother’s leukemia diagnosis shifted my perspective on life. When I first saw my mom in the hospital, I learned how frail and unpredictable life can be. Being able to watch her rise from her diagnosis and challenges has motivated and inspired me to advocate for cancer patients.  If we are healthy and we are able, we should find a way to leave a lasting impact on the lives of people battling not only cancer but all chronic diseases.

Let’s talk about your non-profit organization Cureful and your immediate plans as director of the Angels for Change Youth Council.
Cureful means being cheerful while finding a cure for a family member battling cancer or a chronic illness and staying supportive. The goal is to spread awareness through community outreach by encouraging local citizens to be screened for melanoma for free at Mole Patrol in addition to fundraising for various research initiatives.
Angels for Change is a nonprofit org with a mission to end life-threatening drug shortages through advocacy and a resilient supply chain. It was founded after 9-year-old Abby had an allergic reaction to chemotherapy. Our upcoming fundraiser, “Swim 2 End Shortages”, is a fun family-oriented event that brings the attention back to Abby, who is a passionate swimmer. I’ll be teaching girls between the ages of 12-17 ways to find sponsors for their swim event and encourage them to invite friends and family.

You are in great shape and a very active person. What is your secret, what do you do for energy?
I start the day with a hard workout or a long walk. Working out early in the morning gives me energy and invigorates me throughout the day. I like to stay hydrated and prioritize high-fiber foods like beans and apples.
