Model, university student, and Miss Universe Switzerland 2025 finalist — Tessy Bucher is no stranger to ambition. With a multicultural background, a passion for fashion, and a debut designer collection on the horizon, she is redefining modern elegance with authenticity and purpose. She shares the milestones that shaped her, the creative minds who inspire her, and the philosophy behind her evolving brand.

Tessy, you have a very bright and eventful life — studying at university, working as a model, and being a finalist in Miss Universe Switzerland 2025. Which of your achievements are you most proud of?

What I’m most proud of is completing my education and achieving so much at a young age. I’ve already gained valuable experience and reached personal milestones — all without outside help. That journey shaped me, and I’m proud of the strength it took to do it on my own.

You started your modelling career back in 2012. What has changed the most in the industry since then?

The fashion industry has evolved. Today, individuality is more accepted — whether it’s tattoos or age beyond 25, which used to be seen as limiting. Fashion is becoming more expressive, blending art with style. While elegance remains, creativity is now the leading force in many areas.

You’re working on your own designer collection, which is set to launch in 2026. What will be the style and philosophy behind your pieces?

My upcoming debut collection will feature five signature looks — each representing a different side of who I am: Butterfly, Crown, Snake, Panther, and Diamond. The story behind them is still a secret… but it’s worth the wait.

You were born and raised in Switzerland, but you also have Madagascan and Kenyan roots. How does this influence your style and your perspective on fashion?

I was born and raised in Switzerland, with roots in Madagascar and Kenya. I was adopted by my Swiss father while still in my mother’s womb — she remained my biological mother. Sadly, both of them have passed away, and today I live independently in Switzerland. My heritage inspires me to blend strength and elegance, structure and soul — and to honour the cultural richness that lives within me.

Tell us about your collaboration with the photographer whose work accompanies your runway triumphs. How do you choose your creative partners?

My favourite creative collaborators are also my dream team: photographers HYFY and Oleg Pylypenko, my beauty doctor Dr. Tremp, and hairstylist Gladys from International Hair Salon. With them, I bring my creative visions to life — from concept to completion. They each understand my aesthetic intuitively and help me translate my ideas into powerful visuals.
