Hanna Andrusenko is an internationally recognized hairstylist, educator, and industry judge whose work is defined by precision, structure, and a deep understanding of technique. Her approach goes beyond execution, focusing on the decision-making process that shapes truly professional results. Through her teaching and global perspective, she continues to influence the evolution of modern hairstyling toward mastery, intention, and refined elegance.

Your training system has been recognized with an international award. What makes your approach stand out in a highly competitive industry?

It’s built around decision-making, not just technique.

Most education focuses on steps, but I focus on how a stylist thinks — how they analyze hair, choose structure, and adjust the work in real time.

That shift from following instructions to understanding decisions is what makes the result truly professional.

How has your role as both a judge and educator shaped your perspective on the level of today’s hairstylists globally?

It allows you to see patterns very clearly.

Across different countries, aesthetics may vary, but the same challenges repeat — lack of control, instability, and over-reliance on visual references.

You begin to see not just individual work, but the overall direction of the industry.

From your perspective, what is the biggest gap in the industry today?

The gap between inspiration and execution.

There’s an abundance of visual references, but not enough understanding of how to translate them into real, working results.

That gap is where professional level is truly defined.

What do you think the industry is starting to understand now that it didn’t fully understand before?

That technique is the foundation.

Trends change quickly, but without a strong technical base, nothing lasts — neither the result nor the career.

There is a clear shift toward mastery and long-term quality.

Modern beauty often leans toward effortlessness. How much work stands behind that effect?

Far more than it appears.

What looks effortless is usually the result of highly controlled technique. The lighter and more natural it feels, the more precision it requires behind the scenes.

“What looks effortless is always highly controlled.”

Fashion often introduces bold ideas, while real life requires subtlety. How do you balance the two?

By refining the idea.

Fashion offers direction, but it needs to be adapted — softened, adjusted, and translated into something that works in real life.

The goal is not to replicate, but to reinterpret with precision.

What do you think defines modern elegance today?

Restraint and intention.

It’s not about doing more — it’s about knowing where to stop. Clean lines, soft movement, and a sense of purpose behind every detail.

“Luxury is not in volume — it’s in precision.”

Is natural beauty really becoming the standard today?

Not in the traditional sense — it’s curated.

What we call “natural” today is carefully designed. The shape, texture, and movement are controlled to create an effortless effect.

It’s a shift from visible styling to invisible technique.
